Ashtanga Yoga in Bonn with Franzi Schill
A place to be yourself
About Franzi

I discovered Ashtanga Yoga in my twenties and have been captivated by it ever since.

For me, yoga is an invitation to connection. To the hidden realms of one’s self. To the inner depths. To other beings. To the energy of the universe. Yoga means deep and receptive listening. A listening in which everything that is is allowed to be there. Yoga means giving space. It opens the possibility of love.

I believe that through Ashtanga Vinyasa one can build strength and flexibility and improve health. Furthermore, it opens up access to a philosophical system that enriches every area of life.

I am grateful to have been able to study and practice yoga with world-renowned teachers such as Richard Freeman, Mary Taylor, Ty Landrum, and Gregor Maehle. I learned traditional pranayama from Robert Moses (Namarupa) and Eddie Stern. For my teaching, I draw on my extensive knowledge of asana, pranayama, and philosophy, as well as my many years of teaching experience internationally and in various contexts, including government institutions in Germany.

I find inspiration in my own practice, daily walks in the forest, my teachers, the ideas of Jiddu Krishnamurti, and the poetry of Rainer Maria Rilke.

Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga

In Mysore style classes, students practice the sequence in a self guided manner, meaning on their own and in their own time.

The teacher approaches each student individually, giving assistance, correcting alignment and teaching new postures where adequate. Students can approach the teacher with questions anytime.

This teaching format allows each student to develop a personal practice and to evolve within their own rhythm.

This approach values the uniqueness of every human being.
